Overview[edit | edit source]
-
History[edit | edit source]
Founded as a colony of the United Nations Space Coalition in 2073.
Government Structure[edit | edit source]
The Republic of Alpha Centauri is the official government of Alpha Centauri A, B, Proxima Centauri and Orbital Colonies with-in it's direct territory. While officially still part of the United Republic of Earth the Republic of Alpha Centauri is as of the current era a semi-sovereign state having vast controls over it's own public and private laws. The Republic of Alpha Centauri Has it's own localized independent senate and executive branch, while recognizing the UER's Prime Minister and Grand Marshal as it's head of state.
Politics[edit | edit source]
The RAC is a Multi-Party Democracy (though only full citizens may run for any government office).
Education[edit | edit source]
Basic Education in the RAC is completely free and universal from pre-school to highschool, with college being the same for Full-Citizens.
Legal system[edit | edit source]
The RAC's legal system is based on the UER's and as such known to be very mixed in it's reactions - generally pro-rehabilitation, while at the same time being completely intolerant to decent or protests against the military, patriotism is seen as an absolute.
Culture[edit | edit source]
Religion[edit | edit source]
The RAC like the UER is officially a secular state, however its population is awash with a variety of religions and various forms of spiritualism as-well as various forms of non-religious.
Economy[edit | edit source]
The RAC's economy is based on the UER's and as such is a vast market, but backed by a strong welfare system and policies which keep monetary circular flow in action.
