Overview[edit | edit source]

History[edit | edit source]

The Uranian Combine was formed in the wake of the Reactionary War and interconnected Jovian Civil War. When the late Jovian Empire began clamping down on individual freedoms in an effort to 'remove the stench of the thinking machine' Uranian's were incensed almost immediately, as their culture is one of fierce individualism. When the revolutionary war ended followed by the immediate Jovian civil war the Uranians just like their Saturnian cousins took it as a sign to secede, although for different reasons than the Saturnians.

Government Structure[edit | edit source]

This government is a feudal autocracy where the monarch rules indirectly, granting offices and territories to vassals in exchange for obligations in the form of taxes and military service.

Politics[edit | edit source]

Politics are relatively restricted within the Uranian Combine, as only the non-party based house of lords really matters. Effectively making any form of party politics ineffectual or even pointless.

Education[edit | edit source]

Uranian education is known to be one of the strictest in Sol in terms of social demand, those that succeed swiftly become embraced and empowered by their position and status. The failures however are likely to be found doing menial and largely thankless tasks, however due to the welfare polices in place few go hungry or without shelter even in such cases.

Legal system[edit | edit source]

The Uranian legal system is relatively fair and free from corruption in part due to its largely open process and legal requirement that all legal representatives be non-profit.

Culture[edit | edit source]

Despite their bulky builds and gruff appearance (resembling Orcs of old earth folklore) Uranian's are a fairly non-interventionist and peaceful people. They excel in trade and commerce. Many of their kind have gone into the research field with some leaving Uranus and joining the UER's DSEF (deep space exploration force).

Religion[edit | edit source]

Uranian's hold a strict secularist view with their constitution guaranteeing freedom of religion and from religion, that is in so far as the public sector goes. Despite such a branch of Islam of Zenshia does influence a large chunk of the populations viewpoints and mindset.

Economy[edit | edit source]

The Uranian economy struggles to keep up with the constant demand for resources, in no small part due to the destruction of their main mining complexes in orbit of Uranus by an independent military force, believed to be working for the former Jovian Empire.
